Shall I do this in chronological order? Methinks I shall… 😉
I finished this on December 13 – just in time to put it on and get ready for my SIL’s 13th birthday. Yes, I have a SIL young enough to be my own child. What can I say? My MIL lost her mind a long time ago. 😉
I used the crochet version of the Anthropologie Inspired Capelet pattern – I just extended the length of both the body and the sleeves. So no, the sides are not supposed to meet in the front, and yes, it does fit correctly. I used approximately 1250 meters of DK weight yarn to make it. I had a little bit left over of each color and approximately half a skein left of the gray when I was done, I just don’t know how to calculate the EXACT meterage of what I used.
I just finished this one today, actually. It’s the Chevron Lace Cardigan pattern by milobo. I bought 4 skeins of yarn but used only 3 of them, 984 meters’ worth. There was a little bit left over, but not much.
I had a little bit of a problem at first, but that had to do with my not reading clearly enough, not the pattern itself.
I’m seriously considering seeing if I can find some “fancy” yarn and doing another one to use when I go out drinking with my friends. Maybe something with some sparkle to it, in a fairly neutral color so I can wear it with different outfits.
And it was a quick crochet, too – if I hadn’t had to frog almost an entire sweater and redo it (I was almost done with the body before I realized I’d made a mistake and then had to frog all the way back to row 6), I probably would have had this done yesterday, if not the day before. That’s a plus! *two thumbs up*
Syrina’s been checking it out today, and I’m seriously considering doing one for her, too – one of the smaller sizes should fit her perfectly. I’d just have to make sure I make the sleeves 3/4 or shorter – she likes to chew on the cuffs of her clothing, and she’d rip holes in a crocheted sweater in a heartbeat. I think Caitlin wants one, too.
I’ve finished a few other things as well, but don’t have pictures done of them just yet. I’ve taken SOME pictures, but they’re on the old camera, and it’s upstairs, and I simply don’t feel like doing it right now.
And yes, I said “old camera” as in I have a NEW one! 😀 Hubby got me one for Christmas – a Kodak Easy Share C813. The picture quality is MILES better than my old camera, and it has features that my old camera couldn’t even dream of having. I’m in love with this thing, can ya tell? 😉
